For those that thought that MMO games were on the decline, the large influx of videos this week will set you straight. Even ancient online RPGs are still releasing new content, all these years later.
For starters, RF Online launched another release trailer. We say “another,” because this 1.5 edition is a new beginning for the old game, with new maps, a higher level cap and more.
Who knew that one of the pioneers of MMO games, Everquest, would still be around? In its latest trailer, it divulges the new Shadow of Fear content, which adds gloomy areas as well as a ton of content ranging from spells and abilities to missions and so on. We’d think they’d run out of ideas by now, but nothing could be further from the truth, as this MMO celebrates 14 years of existence. Congratulations, grandma!
Even the aforementioned relic’s sequel, Everquest II, has new content coming up. In the Siren’s Grotto clip, things take a more maritime theme with lots of watery areas, weird longnecks and giant frogs. The second Everquest has only been out for 9 measly years.
Even Star Trek Online has been around for a while now. Still, its Legacy pack has a whole bunch of ships to add, as well as a new species. It will guarantee some shiny battles in space.
Finally, take a quick look at browser title The Lost Titans. Its colorful gameplay is well received, if we are to judge by its short clip filled with high scores from the press; It certainly looks the part.
