We’re back with more gameplay streams and we’ve got a tiny little surprise this time. It isn’t much, but you may want to stick around. For the Indie Royale deal, currently running its Sigma bundle, we’ll be playing 3089. It’s an open world roleplaying game with shooter elements, in a procedural environment. It looks blocky, but it does offer a ton of content in trade. This is just one of the eight titles present in this bundle, which varies from platform games to strategy titles and so on.
To our pleasant surprise, we were accompanied by the developer through chat while streaming. So, you’ll periodically hear us parroting back some feedback they’re telling us, while we suck at this pretty neat game. We usually think we make the right choice between offerings, but now we’re dead sure. Watch the gameplay commentary below.
If you just want games, you can find the Indie Royale Sigma bundle here.
You know we discussed Deadfall Adventures in some footage before, because we wanted to wait for the game to actually release, so we could discuss the multiplayer, before reviewing it. It looks like this wait was in vain, as you can see in this multiplayer clip below.
Still, a review is a thing that we’re doing now, so you’ll get it in fully detailed video form below. If you’d like some bullet points, we have you covered as well.
Use of the Unreal Engine makes the world look vibrant and detailed, despite lesser character models, which accompany an asinine story, lifted from Indiana Jones. There is some competent shooting components, brought down by easy targets and lacking intelligence. Puzzles alters the dynamic, but their execution can become confusing, as do certain level sections. Despite having a clever, multi-faceted design for multiplayer sections, there is nothing going on there.
For the full view, please watch this short video review.
Reviewing games before they release can be fun. In fact, it’s becoming a rare joy to be able to cover a title before anyone can just buy it in the stores. Then again, sometimes it’s also a chore, because there’s no one to turn to if things go sour. Take, for instance, Deadfall Adventures, whose embargo just lifted today and releases on November 15, 2013. This part below had me stumped for a good half hour, followed by plenty sections like it.
Now then, the only reason why there’s not a sparkly review under yours truly’s name is going back to our original point. Deadfall Adventures has a multiplayer portion of the game that isn’t up yet. That doesn’t stop plenty of publications to post reviews, but I’ll wait it out to actually play some online matches.
Until then, you can still enjoy some gameplay from the Nordic Games shooter, made by those who did the Painkiller HD remake. Here are 10 or so minutes of cut footage. Enjoy.
Publisher Deep Silver has announced the release of more downloadable content for Metro: Last Light, dubbed the Chronicles Pack. It’s available now for €4.99 and contains three additional missions.
In this pack, players will return to some key moments mentioned in the game, as seen from their companions’ perspective. For instance, Anna takes point with her sniper rifle in the opening mission of the game. Additionally, we get to see how Artyom’s traveling buddy, Pavel, gets to be in the position where you meet him in the game. Finally, your spiritual guide, Khan, explores more strange visions.
Deep Silver announced that this is the final piece of content for the game. We have screenshots, as always.
As Steam early access game Insurgency continues development, it launches two new game modes, Outpost and V.I.P. Escort. They should update automatically shortly.
In Outpost, players try to survive an onslaught of artificial opponents, which come in increasingly difficult waves, with no end. For the VIP mode, one team tries to escort a high-profile player to a designated area, while the opposition tries to assassinate the target.
These gameplay modes should bring some diversity to the dredge of similar modes the game has had so far, mostly concerned about control points. That should definitely make me interested in playing the game once more.
We have screenshots.
