Over 2 decades or 20 years ago, Neo Geo laucnhed one of the most controversial consoles over, hitting the market at a price of well over $600. This expensive piece of machinery did give you a complete arcade feeling right in your home in return however and those days were good.
Mastering the 2D graphics sector, Neo Geo is known throughout the world for making a large series of quality arcade titles that have their own cult following. Their 2D fighter franchises such as Samurai Showdown, KoF and Fatal Fury have inspired the modern era of 2D fighters such as BlazBlue and even Marvel Vs Capcom.
Today, the Neo Geo Station hopes to emulate this arcade feeling by launching on the Playstation Network. With network play and replay settings added to every game launched, players will now be able to square off in a worldwide arcade hall for instant fun.
To celebrate, we will be playing and releasing a review each day, for all ten games available so far on the network. Going from space shooters to soccer gamers to a lot of fighters, oldschool gamers and arcade lovers should keep a very close eye on our review section as we continue this legacy of quarter-eating glory.
Also, PSP owners might want to follow closely, as we might be giving away some redeem codes for one of the 10 games available. Instructions are yet to follow, but you’d best subscribe to the Twitter feed already, should you want a shot.
