We were planning on skipping this earlier drafted series of “All The Ways To Compare,” but given recent events, perhaps it bears reiterating exactly what The Banner Saga looks like, for outsiders. After delving into Gone Home and Bioshock Infinite, this seems like a fitting continuation.
The Banner Saga is like The Oregon Trail, but a lot crueler; hence Organ Trail. It takes a party on a journey from one point to another, where they’ll meet many strange events that may or may not end well.
The Banner Saga handles relationships like Dragon Age. Just like in the older BioWare days, one cocky move and people leave forever.
The Banner Saga is as depressing as The Wrestler. While the game portrays heroes and there are victories, the tone definitely spells defeat at all turns.
The Banner Saga needs the same loving care as The Sims. Don’t cater to the needs of the people and the lowering morale will have crushing results.
The Banner Saga is a straight copy from Candy Crush Saga. It has the same cartoon visuals, a dragging story and even a similar name; it’s so obvious.
As always, if you have some astute comparisons of your own, pass them on in the comments.
