Today on Reddit, German user Doomyna showed off how South Park: The Stick of Truth looks like now. It was hastily pulled from shelves after finding out that the release still had Nazi symbolism likes swastikas were still present in the game.
In the r/gaming thread, a picture shows just how the developer has taken to the censorship, with their usual level of cheekiness. Characters are still the same, but now have a black floating bar in front of any symbolism.
Further down the thread, there’s also a short clip to see the German version of South Park: The Stick of Truth in action.
Germany has a history of not only banning Nazi symbolism, like in the original Wolfenstein, but also just violent games in general. Carmageddon, Fallout, Mortal Kombat and other titles have all either been banned or altered with things like zombie blood to tone down the violence in games. Maybe someone should link that to a decreasing violence rate, so we can once more argue that games make you violent.
