Online portal UserGames.com announced that its Open Beta for Argo Online is fully underway. For the uninitiated, this is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) shooter in third person that also happens to use some Japanese roleplaying game (JRPG) elements.
Argo Online’s story takes us to the Forth World War, which is now also inhabited by sexy little elves as well, for reasons. At least we’ll have to wait until the 23rd century until the fourth one hits, so the unexplained third should at least have a century or so of peace between wars.
Argo Online has eight classes, with many focusing on magical traits outside of their ranged attacks. Still, there’s also the standard swords and tanks, but also snipers and so on. Visuals look a little plain for today’s standard, but it’s also far from being terrible. Though generic, character models do look pretty diverse. There’s auxiliary activity like harvesting or crafting, there are pets and mounts; it’s pretty much your general time-wasting MMO. It’s free, so just take a few spins and see if it sticks. At least it’s trying to be its own thing.
It can’t be worse than the time we had with Wildstar.
