Jonathan Blow has posted a screenshot of upcoming game The Witness that shows it in a rudimentary state. In preparation of E3, the developer seeks to rebuild the entire first area, a location vital to a lot of demo players, since that’s the thing that will get the most play time.
It’s being remade to improve the gameplay aspect of the large puzzle game. Speaking of which, there’s a cool statistic in the blog post about the game as well. Currently, this version of The Witness has 627 puzzles. That’s a scary big amount of puzzles, since the mechanism requires solving all puzzle pieces to reach its pinnacle. At least that should tell us why the game is taking quite some game to complete.
While The Witness is a timed exclusive on Playstation 4, rest assured that the first-person game will also make it to PC. In fact, the developer previously also showed off Oculus Rift support, so you can truly feel like you’re inadequate to solve puzzles from a firsthand view.
