Let’s take a moment to bask in admiration of the latest Xbox tweet, where the company touts its own horn in a humble brag. In the message, it states that it’s not the console manufacturer that claims to have the best exclusives, but the gaming community saying that. It does so by listing a selection of titles:
We would’ve stuck to Dead Rising 3, but that has recently come to PC in a port. Maybe Crimson Dragon then, if anyone remembers what that is? Fighter Within is probably not such a good plan, since it turned out to be one of the worst games for the latest consoles. It could’ve also plugged Fable Legends or the newly announced Scalebound from Bayonetta developer Platinum Games, but none of those are probably as marketing ripe as big hitters like Assassin’s Creed. So, just to be extra safe, we put the tweet through a check. Here’s the breakdown of that:
It’s ok, you tried. Looks like someone deserves a gold star.
What the tweet is actually going for is that these titles will offer some manner of exclusive downloadable content (DLC), a mission or so, but that’s not what an “exclusive” means. Come on, Xbox, you’re better than that. D4, Shape Up, Quantum Break, Ori and the Blind Forest; those are all exclusives. Feel free to plug any of those.
A for effort….. xb1 these days… is like the little kid that you want to do good but you know is going to face plant.
